Application
EM-EX Seismic provides a compact explosive charge with a high velocity of detonation. These properties facilitate the delivery of a clean, point source signal into the surrounding rock. It has excellent water resistance even in dynamic water situations. EM-EX Seismic can be reliably initiated by a detonator of No.8 or greater strength.
A detonator shield must be used with every primed cartridge to ensure firing. Care must be taken to ensure that the detonator is placed inside of seismic emulsion cartridges properly. If it is needed, rigid plastic case can be drilled in order to guarantee proper priming. Connect tubes of EM-EX Seismic by screwing them together, before they are inserted into the blasthole.
Packaging
EM-EX Seismic cartridges are packed in cases. The rigid plastic cartridges, with positive screw coupling, give flexibility of charge size at the shot hole.

- Diameter is inner-diameter of rigid plastic cartridges and exactly diameter of emulsion explosive. Length is inner-length of rigid plastic cartridges and exactly length of emulsion explosive.
- Exact weight of emulsion explosive, weight rigid plastic cartridge is ignored.
Storage
EM-EX Seismic should be stored In a suitable licensed explosive magazine. It Is best stored at temperatures above -15°C (5°F). This Is especially important in cold weather “load and shoot” worksites where there is insufficient inhole warm-up time.
EM-EX Seismic should be transported between -15°C and +30°C.
Provided that storage conditions are appropriate, it is recommended to use EMEX Contour within 6 months.
Product shelf life expansion can be verified after examined by the supplier.
