Delay connectors

Delay connectors are non-electric, surface delay devices. They provide delay between holes and rows in blasting operations where detonating cord is used for initiation.

Delay connectors consist of a delay element, housed in the center of an aluminum tube. Both ends of the tube are open to allow entry of the detonating cord.

Delay connectors are available in 20 and 50 millisecond delay intervals.

Description

Application

Delay connectors are easily attached to the round by cutting detonating cord at the desired location and inserting both cut ends in the connector tube. Delay connectors are bi-directional in use, however it is very important to note that both cut ends of detonating cord should be kept well protected. By using delay connectors, various initiation patterns such as row-by-row delay, diagonal connection and V-pattern can be attained.

The shorter interval connectors are generally used in small-diameter holes drilled close one to another. The Longer interval connectors are suitable for Large-diameter holes drilled on wider spacing, or in cases where enough time to enable rock displacement is necessary.

To avoid cutoffs, it is recommended to locate delay connectors as close as possible to the drill hole being delayed.

Packaging

Delay connectors are packed in boxes of 100 PCs each.

Storage

Delay connectors are explosive blasting accessories and should be handled stored and used according to the national laws and regulations. They should be stored in a cool, dry, well-ventilated place.

Provided that storage conditions are appropriate, it is recommended to use delay connectors within 12 months.

Product shelf life expansion can be verified after examined by the supplier.
